Hi there,

I have the TP-Link Archer C8 (firmware version 3.16.28 Build 20141023 Rel.70351n), which should have WiFi ac capability. However, Windows says the radio type is 802.11n. Does this mean it is not really using the ac specification?

See the following evidence:

Is it possible for you to place the router and PC next to each other? If the signal strenght is full, what's the speed? Try channel width 80Mhz or 40Mhz.

Transmit rate (Mbps) : 585

The reported speeds wouldn't be as high as listed if you were not utilizing ac specification.

It is AC router, no doubt because this model uses Broadcom's AC chipset.

What should be doubted is the windows's indicated message.. : (
