Archer C7 and IPv6
Region : Canada
Model : Archer C7
Hardware Version : Not Clear
Firmware Version : 3.14.1 Build 140903 Rel.59254n
ISP : Teksavvy Solutions
I have joined Teksavvy's Beta ipv6 program. After several weeks of trying, I have been unable to get an IPv6 connection. Here is what I get on the WAN side of things in the IPv6 status page
WAN
Connection Type: PPPoEv6
IPv6 Address: /64
It does show more info such as below. Some stuff deleted of course
IPv6 Default Gateway: fe80::0000:0000:xxxxx
Primary IPv6 DNS: 2607:xxxx::1
Secondary IPv6 DNS: 2607:xxx::2
I log into the IPv6 server, and that is about ll I get back. They have given me both a /64 and a /56 address There seems to be no place to insert either of these using the PPPoEv6 login The primary and secondary up above are what they gave me, and seemed to show up all by themselves
This is the Setup page (again with some redaction)
WAN Setup
Enable IPv6:
WAN Connection Type: IPv6PPPoEv6
User Name:
Password:
Confirm Password:
Get IPv6 Address Way: Get IPv6 prefix delegation
IPv6 Address: (shows nothing here)
Connected
LAN Setup
IPv6 Address Assign Type: DHCPv6 Server
Start IPv6 Address
End IPv6 Address
IPv6 Address Prefix: /64
IPv6 Address Prefix Length
Release Time: Seconds(The default is 86400, do not change unless necessary.)
IPv6 Address Prefix: /64
LAN IPv6 Address: 2607:etc
Message: Get an IPv6 prefix delegation, so the LAN is configed automatically by the router.
What procedure should I go through. I have a TP-link modem/router in bridge mode (model TD-8816 with ver 7 Firmware. I am aware that only the ver 8 is IPv6 capable, but have been told in a separate quest in this forum that in bridge mode that modem should pass IPv6 Any and all help is appreciated
