Access Point settings lost when power lost

I have setup my repeater in Access Point mode. I live in an area with frequent power dips and I find that when the power comes back on the repeater has lost it's settings and has defaulted back to repeater mode.
It is extremely frustrating to keep setting up Access Point mode. Has anyone had similar problems and is there a way to force the repeater to remember your settings and start in Access Point mode?
