Need to re-install each time to print

Hi,
I recently set up and installed my print server and it printed perfectly.
After shutting down my PC and rebooting, it won't print - I get a message that there is a printer error.
I shut down both the printer and print server and restart them but still no printing.
I have to resort to re-installing the print server software to get it to work again.
Any ideas on how to configure it so that it remembers the set up.
I have the same problem on both my laptop and PC desktop computers.
