Hello.
So I'm looking for a new router, because my 1043 suffers from interference. What I'm wondering is what's the difference between V1.2 and V2. I see V2 has one antenna less. Is there a flaw in the V1.2 design? I need a reliable router for streaming movies over the 5 Ghz range.

Regards to you.

Archer C5 or any other model?
V2 is the newer than V1.2 and there are some hardware changes. V2 should work better in Wi-Fi performance.

Manufacturers usually change product hardware versions for tiny hardware adjustment.

Hi,

Archer C5 v1.2 has a Qualcomm Atheros CPU but the new Archer C5 v2 has a Broadcom !
The missing antenna has no importance because both are 2 streams only...

I have Archer c5 v1.2 and there is unclear specifications. Maximum speed on wifi info shows more speed than noticed on specifications for v2. See attachment:

I don't know why, but some Archer C5 v1.2 appear identical to Archer C7 v2... :D

This particular change must have been bigger than others. That's because the Archer C5 V1.2, although marketed as an AC1200 router, was supposedly internally the same as Archer C7, a three stream AC1750 router. That's why the C5 V1.2 had three external antennas. I don't know how it exactly worked, but Archer's C5 performance was somehow throttled down to AC1200 level either by the hardware or software. The newer Archer C5 V2 is a two stream AC1200 router with two antennas, and so it is probably significantly different from the C5 V1.2.

Archer C5 v1.2 = Archer C7 v2 is like WR1043ND v2 = WR1043ND v3 , I mean the TP-Link product marketing is not clean !
