Hi,

I have an existing TL-WPA4220 network comprising of 3*TL-WPA4220's the master one of which is wired directly into my router and the other 2 plugged in around the house.

I have recently purchased a pair of TL-PA4010P pass thorugh units to extend the network in my house. I am having difficulty getting the TL-PA4010P onto the TL-WPA4220 network.

I have tried plugging the TL-PA4010P into a socket right next to one of the TL-WPA4220's to see does it pick up the network, but it is not listing on available networks.

I have tried pairing one of the TL-PA4010P with one of the TL-WPA4220's but it is not listing on available networks

My existing TL-WPA4220's show up individually in my wifi selection listings (on phones, mac, pc etc.) but neither of the new TL-PA4010P ever do.

I should state that the TL-PA4010P lights do come on and the wireless light momentarily flickers which I believe means it is transferring data...but the unit never seems to register on the network.

Any advice or guidance please?

Did you refer to the guidance as below? If you tried pair correctly but cannot make them work, try to rename all of them with utility.

Tony, I just had a look at the tech bulletin and I have a couple of quick questions...do I need to rename the network to be the same on ALL the original TL-WPA4220 devices i.e. the 3 originals including the master device wired to the router, and then the 2 new TL-PA4010P's ?

Following this,
should they all hook up autmatically (plug and play), or do I need to use the pairing method for setup i.e. pair them one by one when plugging them back in to the wall?

Once again thanks for your help...

If you change network name of all powerline adapter to be the same one by one, they will be able to communicate with each other.

Tony, I did as suggested in the Tech Bulleting but am still having issues...

All units are on the same new Network Name "Homeplug" (see Status jpg)

All units are appearing on the "Homeplug" network (see Network jpg)
I renamed all of the units on the "Homeplug" network so that I knew which was which. (2* TL-WPA4220 = Kicthen & DavesRoom; 2* TL-PA4010P=PassThru1 & PassThru2)

Only the 2 WPA4220s are available for use on my wireless Home Network (see Available Wireless Networks jpg) Kitchen=TP-Link868794 & DavesRoom=TP-Link865BE6

So now the 4 units appear to be on the same TP network (Homeplug) only the original 2 new uinits are available for use on the Home Network?

One WPA4220 is connected to your router by cable connection?
Did you connect any device to WPA4220 in DavesRoom and 2* [COLOR=#333333]TL-PA4010P=PassThru1 & PassThru2?
As I know, rate will be displayed as 11Mbps if there is no device connected to one end of powerline network.
Install the new utility and have a check. It works for your models as well. No worries.

Hi Tony, I understand - that makes sense now.

Also my query re only the 2 [COLOR=#333333]WPA4220s being available for use on my wireless Home Network has been answered by Tech Support, and boy do I feel silly...the two TL-PA4010Ps do not support wireless connectivity d'oh !!

So I am off to buy a Pass Through unit with a "WPA" in its name now....many thanks for your help to date. I'll let you know how I get on.
