Did you login web interface locally or remotely?
It cannot be ugpraded remotely. Login the web interface on the PC connected to LAN ports of W8961N and upgrade the firmware.

I'm sorry for my late reply,
yes, I've try hard reset (from small hole button at rear) and soft reset (from maintenance menu). Actually this modem is locked by ISP, I wan to unlock it.
Have 4 port RJ45 at rear modem, all port as internet only 1port used to my PC, I wan to edit port3 and port4 as other function from VLAN setting in "ATM VCs List".

Using windows 8.1_x64,
Can I Flash/Upgrade Firmware modem using other way (not Web GUI) like Telnet, PuTTY or other software?
How to use it?

Thank you

Why do you upgrade the firmware?
As frismo mentioned, the modem is locked by ISP. If yours are the same, try to contact your ISP and ask for help.

telnet it
2015-08-18 20:57:40
first enable telnet if you're on win 7 * disabled by default on win 7

type telnet on cmd press o to open new connection point to 192.168.1.1or 192.168.1.254 or your router ip

login with default user and password admin/admin or

if you already connected

type sys adminname xxx! ( choose your username )

type sys password xxx

type multiuser on|xxx ( yourusername )

just type help if you want to try something

then login with your new created user and password...

but afaik the firmware is locked by binary , telkom firmware rejecting new firmware,, the only thing you can do is to use serial port and flash it direct to chip

hi, I finally did succeed on upgrading this firmware... try "sys modelcheck off" on telnet... then proceed to upgrade the firmware.
