hi

Having real trouble getting port forwarding to work. I've set a number of ports up but just can't get them open.

I've checked that I have an external WAN ip from talk talk (starts 89.168...). i've tried to open port 80, 50000, 3671 and none of these work.

Have also tried switching on the remote admin, tested port 80 and that was open - so i don't think its a TalkTalk issue.

Any ideas? is there anywhere i need to enable port forwarding for the router as a whole, rather than just the individual ports?

Here are my virtual server settings:

Have you asked your internet provider about those possibility? Perhaps he blocks network traffic on your firewall.

Thanks, but in the end i found out it was that the Gateway setting on my internal server was still pointing at my old router address of 192.168.1.254 instead of the new TP-Link one of 192.168.1.1once i changed that the port was open! Thanks to Jonas in TP-Link support for getting me to check that!

I just wanted to say thank you for posting this even though you solved your own problem!

I switched to the W9980 last night and couldn't understand why my torrent client on my NAS wasn't downloading or uploading despite trying all sorts of ports etc (even DMZ) - it never occurred to me that the gateway was still set as my old router!

Top man! :D

@stevep94 If the problem is different, you'd better start a new thread and describe it in details.
