Region : UnitedKingdom
Model : TD-W8961ND
Hardware Version : V3
Firmware Version : 3.0.0 Build 140331 Rel.27670
ISP : BT
Looking for advice on how to edit my SNR margin. It's currently sat at 6dB (BT's default) and I get an OK 14Mbps. I've tried all the set snr commands I can think of and nothing seems to work. Can anybody help?
Also am I on the latest FW?
Thanks
/Pete

I've heard about way by telnet/putty to change those parameters but I don't have any tutorials. You have to search in internet.

I know all the commands and have tried them until my fingers hurt from typing and it just doesn't want to work. And now my SNR has bumped up to 9dB thanks to all the "wan adsl close" commands I used during testing.

Did you contact your ISP to check the line quality?

Thanks for the suggestion Mavis, might do that soon. As it is at the moment I'm stable at around 13Mbps so not too bad. Sucks I don't have fibre here yet!

Very important is line quality and distance from DSLAM (central point of your ISP)

Not sure if by DSLAM you mean an exchange box, but if so it's 970 meters in a straight line. So realistically 1800+ meters cable length.

I think that you don't know true cable route from DSLAM. Firstly you have to report it to your ISP.
Can you show us screenshot fron Status tab?
