TL-WN823N Not connecting

MOBO: Gigabyte 970a-ud3p
RAM: 8GB
I have connected the adapter and have updated it. I am running windows 8.1 I have tried other WIFI adapters on my PC and they work but this one is refusing to do so. I can connect to the internet on other platforms such as my phone. I have seen people have had the same issue with this adapter but I can not seem to find a solution to the problem. Any help would be great thanks.
Edit: The device will connect on occasions but only with a limited connection.
