TP-LINK Archer C9 NBN issue
Region : Australia
Model : AC1900
Hardware Version : Not Clear
Firmware Version : ver3-17-0-P1
ISP : Optus (NBN)
Hi there, I have a brand new TP-LINK Archer C9 that I purchased from Officeworks. Came unopened with the seals all in place etc.
When I plugged it all up and turned it on, it was broadcasting a wireless network very different to the default ones "Wellwebflowers" and when I connected to the ethernet and went to the config page, everything was pre-configured, including someones PPOE settings etc.
I reset to factory, configured as I needed, plugged it in to the NBN router.
No matter what I do, it refuses to get an internet connection from the NBN router.
I got it working once last night... accidentally. I plugged the NBN router directly into my laptop to look up the issue and download the latest firmware. I plugged the NBN lead back into the routers WAN port and noticed that the light went blue and internet started working on my wireless devices.
I hadn't changed any settings or powered off or on any devices.
I then tested and sure enough, the web interface showed a big tick for internet working. All my hard wired and wireless devices came to life etc.
This morning I ran the firmware update, reloaded the config file. It again refuses to connect to the NBN.
Only this time I cannot get it to connect again. It's been 3 hours and I've tried everything I can find online. I've spent 2 hours on the phone with Optus NBN support who have triple confirmed with me that the router only has to be set to get a dynamic IP on the WAN port for NBN to work.
As soon as I plug in their router, NBN works fine, as soon as I plug in a computer direct to NBN router it works fine, as soon as I plug in a crappy old wireless router from about 7 years ago, NBN works fine. The issue appears to be the Archer C9.
How can you sell this device as NBN ready if it isn't NBN ready?!? Please advise!
