TL-WN881ND malfunction after Windows 7 x64 update

It worked fine but now something's wrong with the software. I tested it under a live version of linux and it works out-of-the-box, the hardware is functional, I browsed the web, no problems detected. In Windows 7 x64 the utility and driver are installed and detected but it does not scan for any wireless access points. Tried everything: cleaning the driver and utility and reinstall them from the manufacturer's original cd but to no avail. What should I do? I've got no viruses and the system is running smoothly.
