Question about range extenders

I'm looking at buying a TP-Link RE210 AC750 to improve the signal strength in my kitchen and garden but I just have one question. When I move from my office where the signal is strong, to the kitchen where it's poor, will it automatically pickup the range extender or will I have to select it manually? Sorry if its a stupid question I just want to be sure.[h=1][/h]
