Is it possible to use the WN722N wifi adapter without the antenna attached?
The device I'm connecting it to is wall mounted and the antenna gets in the way
when mounting it to the wall, so I'd like to use it without the antenna attached.

A WN721 would have done the trick, but they don't seem to be available anymore
here in Australia.

Maybe you can connect to Wi-Fi when the adapter is very close to main router if it has no antenna. But the router and adapter are not next to each to each normally, right?
If you need adapters with built-in antennas like WN721, there are many choices. And I believe some of them are available in AU.

Thanks Vivien,

Yes, I've tried a few of them (WN723N, WN727N )but they won't work with the device
which is an Enphase Envoy for my solar power. The WN821 doesn't work either from
what I've read in various forums. It runs embedded linux OS and seems to only work
properly with ATHEREOS chipsets.

Anyway, I'll just modify the wall mounting and use the WN722N.

Thanks anyway.
