hello.

i live in the 3rd floor of a students rooms building. the main internet rooter is on the on the ground floor. so to get a signal up here, we have installed a TP link TL-WA901ND connected via power plug to the main rooter. but the problem is the main rooter have been changed to the latest model, and ever since the connection i get from the TP link device is much slower. also i cannot access to settings anymore by connecting to "http://tplinkap.net", it redirects me to a TP link page saying i should be connecting to the TP link rooter while doing that, which is the case.

i haven't had to configure anything for it to detect and connect to the main rooter, just the connection is much slower now. and as i cannot access the settings, i have no idea what the problem might be.

extra details: i live in belgium and it is a belgacom rooter (or maybe proximus).

thanks in advance for any coming answer.

After you use 901ND connected to your router with cable, the ip address of 901ND is changed then you need to check from your router. If not, you may need to set static ip for your 901ND.
For the slow speed, you could use PC connect your router to test your speed then connect to 901ND and check that also. If it is truly very slow from the data, you could also download the inSSIDer software to find your idle wireless channel, then you could change your 901ND to fix idle channel and 20MHZ channel width. Have a try.

ok, i think you could reset your 901ND first, then refer this faq: http://www.tp-link.com/en/faq-375.html. After you could login in, you should set static ip for your 901ND, don;t forget set the gateway.

hi,

i have reset it already, twice.
but when i try to connect to http://tplinkap.net which worked before, now it redirects me to a page telling me to connect directly to the TP link device instead of the main rooter. but i am connected to the TP link device. and when i try to access typing the gateaway IP (192.168.1.1), it leads me to my main rooter's website.

ok, how could it lead you to the router's website, just two reason. First, you don't reset it rightly. Second, you don't connect to the TP link device directly. Refer this: http://www.tp-link.com/res/down/doc/TL-WA901ND_V4_QIG.pdf. If you still come to the router's website, you could turn off the router and have a try again.

hello. thanks you again for helping me. well i reset it by pushing the button in the back for a few seconds, untill all lights go down and come back one by one. i did it multiple times, unplugged it too... and i am most definitly connected to the TP_LINK-APXXXX connection, which is the device. but again neither the link ot IP gets me to the settings page. i'll try connecting to it while the main rooter is off, but i doubt itll change anything. i'll let you know when i get a chance to try it.

ok, if you still can't fix the problem. I would advise you to contact TP-Link support through hotline: http://www.tp-link.com/en/support-contact.html.
