Hallo liebe TP-Link Fachleute,

gibt es hier im Forum Jemanden, der oder die den "TP-LINK TL-WR802N Wireless N300 Travel Router, Nano Size, Router/AP/Client/Bridge/Repeater Modes, 300Mbps, USB Powered" gut kennt?

Testweise haben wir den TL-WR802n gekauft, weil er sehr schön klein ist und weil Netgear es immer noch nicht geschafft hat, die Firmware für unsere PR2000 Travel-Router fehlerfrei zu bekommen. Wir brauchen richtige Travel-Router, die sich unterwegs (nach einmaliger Eingabe) automatisch immer wieder in das jeweils verfügbare WLan-Netz / HotSpot einloggen. So wie das Handys, Tablets usw. in Hotels, an Bahnhöfen, öffentlichen Plätzen, auf Messen usw. ja auch tun. Diese Internetverbindung soll der Travel-Router dann mit allen angeschlossenen Geräten teilen, ohne dass diese sich ebenfalls dort jeweils einzeln einloggen müssen.

Die Netgear PR2000 machen das ja richtig gut. Leider kommt es immer wieder zu Verbindungsabbrüchen und ungeplanten Resets der Geräte. Netgear entwickelt die Firmware zwar weiter, hat das Problem aber bisher nicht in den Griff bekommen. Daher wollten wir auf Ihren TL-WR802 umsteigen, zumal dieser auch für diese Zwecke beworben wird und weniger als ¼ so groß ist wie der PR2000.

Bei den durchgeführten Tests ist uns aufgefallen, dass der TL-WR802n im HotSpot-Modus immer mit dem gleichen Kanal sein Netz aufspannt, den auch der Accesspoint hat, in dessen WLan-Netz sich der TL-WR802n einloggt. Das ist m. E. doch wenig sinnvoll, da die Netze sich stören können, oder? Kann man da wirklich nichts einstellen?

Dann dauert das Einloggen in das abgespeicherte WLan-Netz teils sehr, sehr lange und der WR802n leitet die Authentifizierungsseite von HotSpots nicht an Clints weiter. Ohne Eingabe der Login-Daten auf deren Authentifizierungsseite ist jedoch kein Internetzugang an vielen HotSpots möglich. Wo könnte hier der Fehler liegen?

Paradox ist es, dass der WR802N die SSID über die BSSID an die MAC Adresse des jeweiligen HotSpots zu koppeln scheint. Ohne BSSID bekomme ich keine Verbindung konfiguriert. Wenn ich mich z. B. im Bahnhof oder Messe im gleichen HotSpot-Netz eines Anbieters befinde, aber von einem in den Bereich eines anderen Accesspoint komme, loggt der WR802N sich nicht mehr ein und ich muss das Setup wieder ausführen. Gibt’s dafür eine Lösung?

Leider habe ich beim TP link WR802N keine Einstellung gefunden, wie die einmal verbundenen Netzwerke abgespeichert werden können. So wie das ja jedes Handy, Tablet oder auch Notebook macht. Es ist immer nur das zuletzt verbundene Netzwerk verfügbar. Beim Netgear PR200 können wenigstens bis zu 10 Netzwerkprofile abgespeichert werden. Auch das ist alles andere als ideal, 30-50 dürften es ruhig sein.

Aber, dass man beim WR802n laufend ins Setup gehen muss, um bei einem Ortswechsel immer wieder das WLan-Netz neu zu konfigurieren zu müssen, macht den TP link WR802N als Travel-Router praktisch unbrauchbar. Oder gibt es hierfür eine Lösung, die ich nicht gefunden habe?
