Model: Archer VR400
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: Firmware Version:1.6.0 0.9.1 v00a1.0 Build 250909 Rel.35514n Hardware

DSL Modulation Type: adsl2+

Annex Type:  annex A

  Upstream Downstream
Current Rate (kbps) 1207 17143
Max Rate (kbps) 1207 19340
SNR Margin (dB) 8.6 8.1
Line Attenuation (dB) 5.8 3
Errors (pkts) 0 0

why the modem is push the rate to 17 mb! my plan is 10mb and speed test result around 10mb

that cause low snr and unstable connection and loss how to can i tweaking SNR to get 20db

Go to Advanced > Network > DSL Settings and change the "DSL Modulation Type" from Auto Sync or ADSL2+ down to G.DMT or ADSL2. This limits your maximum top-end speed but forcefully raises your SNR margin to stabilize a dropping line.

To Maximize Stability (Raises SNR Margin): Uncheck VDSL2 and ADSL2+, then check ADSL2 or G.DMT. This limits your top speed, cap but forces the line to lock on a high, unshakable SNR margin (usually 12 dB to 15 dB).

@terziyski when i change the modulation both current rate and max rate decrease so no point to change mod and snr stay between 6-8

There are no other tools that you can use to tweak the SNR from the VR400. The other option is to call your ISP and ask them to check your POTS line quality.

If your modem is syncing at 17 Mbps while your package is 10 Mbps, that usually means the line is capable of a higher sync rate, but the lower SNR margin can make the connection unstable. In most cases, you can't simply tweak the SNR to 20 dB from the modem settings. It's better to check your internal wiring, filters, and line quality, or ask your ISP to adjust the line profile for more stability. A low SNR margin often causes disconnects, packet loss, and buffering issues, especially when streaming content or using apps such as telecharger yacine tv.
