Archer routers : no more firewall settings
Model : Archer (D2 - D5 -) D7
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : that's the question
ISP :
Hello,
I would like to buy a TP-link archer Dx modem router to replace my TD-W8970.
My problem is that with new firmwares, the web interface has completely changed, and not for better: people can no more set firewall rules, according to the emulator here
http://www.tp-link.fr/resources/simulator/D7emulator/web/index.htm
and according to the user guide.
Here is the web interface of the former firmware of the same archer D7:
http://www.tp-link.com/resources/simulator/Archer_D7/index.htm
(firmware version 140416)
This would be much better for me.
The new web interface comes with 150824 firmware. ("more concise and easy to use", they say, I think it's really too concise for professional use)
Do you think that I could use 150514 firmware?
It corrects kcode bug. But I would stick to it and have no correction of new found bugs, that's a bad point.
Or is there an other way of setting up the firewall?
some TP-link routers can be accessed via telnet on LAN.
thank you for your help on this point.
