TL-WR1043ND Keeps Dropping Vista PC's
Region : UnitedKingdom
Model : TL-WR1043ND
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : 3.13.13 Build 130428 Rel.58290n
ISP : Virginmedia
Hi,
I have just purchased a TL-WR1043ND Wireless router and I am having trouble with keeping 2 laptops using Vista connected to it.
On the network we have:
2 Windows 8 laptops, 1 Windows 7 notebook, 2 Windows Vista laptops, a Nexus 7 android tablet, 4 Kindles and 4 android smartphones and a HP Phortosmart printer/scanner which are all connected wirelessly.
I am not having problems with anything except the 2 Vista laptops - these will only stay connected for a short length of time after which they drop the connection to network and I cannot reconnect.
The laptops still detect my wireless network and the all the other networks close to me, but refuse to connect to mine. I can connect to a neighbours unprotected network (naughty, but it was just a test!!) but not mine. Repairing the connection does not work. Once "dead" rebooting the laptop does not work - I still cannot connect to y network.
I have found 2 ways to reconnect:
1. Reboot the TL-WR1043ND and then the laptop.
2. Reboot the laptop in "Safe Mode with Networking" - the laptop connects in Safe Mode, and then when I then reboot the laptop normally it connects to my network.
However in both cases the connection drops again after a while. I updated the firmware to "3.13.13 Build 130428 Rel.58290n" which hasn't helped.
It's obviously an issue with Vista PC's - everything else retains the connections and reconnects fine after reboots etc, but just not the Vista machines.
Really grateful for any help and advice.
Cheers,
Andy
