I have an environment where i have a fiber modem connected outside my house (utilities cabine) and i use an ethernet cable from the fiber modem to inside house, connected to a LAN port on the AC1200, making it an Access Point.

This setup works, but has it's limitations, namely:
1 ethernet port (WAN in this case) can't be used for anything , meaning there's 1 less LAN port available to connect devices
[*]Router time update, firmware upgrade doesn't work
[*]Router status page says there's no internet connection and says WAN port is unplugged (and it is)
Requests

I would like to propose to TP-LINK if the following can be implemented:
Configure any port on the router as LAN or WAN
[*]Status page could check internet access by using any port and not just WAN port
[*]Ability to define a gw on the LAN interface (in my case fiber modem is 192.168.1.1 and TP-Link is 192.168.1.2, but there's no gw on tp-link to reach out any host outside 192.168.1.0/24 .
Thanks in advance .
