Archer C1200 v1.0 "Unable to upgrade" Firmware

Hi There,
I just purchased an Archer C1200 v1.0. I wanted to upgrade the firmware before setting up other things on the router.
According to the website the latest firmware version is "Archer C1200(US)_V1_170413". Currently my router is reporting "1.0.0 Build 20160601 rel.44450 (CA)" which seems to be outdated.
I tried the "Online Upgrade" but it says by firmware is up to date.
I also tried manually downloading and installing the "C1200v1_us-up-1.1.0 Build 20170413 rel.56876.bin" but after a few seconds it simply says "Unable to Upgrade"
Why am I unable to upgrade to the latest version?
