@cordswires if I understand correctly, you use your Deco in access point mode, not in router mode. If Yes, have you tried to togle smart DHCP in More->Advanced? If you use router mode, that's strange...

@Er1 Have you disabled mesh technology for your ESP8266? I had some improvement by disabling it for some ESP8266 and sometime specifying a Deco to connect to can also help.
