From elswhere on this forum I realised that the RE330 relies upon a wifi signal so would never have been a replacement for the WPA4220. I still can't get anywhere with the WPA4220.

So the RE330 doesn't get its signal through the wiring! That explains it, thanks

Thanks woozle, My TL-WPA4220 was working at about 50 feet from the modem for some years. I was hoping that a more modern device would be just as good. I'll just have to try to get the WPA4220 working...
