Update: I chked my W8970 router on my uncles 8Mbps ADSL..... Works perfectly...... On ADSL2+ modulation..... ping to ISP gateway is just 6ms frm wht was 70ms on 2Mbps...... and speeds consistently...

I tried with 2 more routers...... Netgear N150 (DGN1000) : Same result........ ADSL2+ caps speed at 140KBps... but G.dmt gives full 210KBps..... D-Link DSL-2750U: ADSL2+ speed clocks 210KBps.........
