There's an obfuscated local TCP API that can be used to control the bulbs. I think their app uses it but it's not published. A web search will track down the particulars.

I think he means using automation so that turning the light switch on or off triggers the same on the HS105. I'm not sure there are rules in kasa like that, but perhaps IFTTT will work?
