I read an older similar thread and tried updating firmware to OpenWRT. Ended up bricking my router. Restored Archer C7 firmware. Only functional setting change to factory settings was I disabled SPI...

@kotysoft I have V2 of this router and only had the option of changing SPI firewall. So I changed it and I am now happy! I believe this to be the key setting!
