Model: Archer AX20
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 Build 20200929 rel.54838(4555)

Hi. I will try to explain my problem in a few words. :)

I have a modem from my provider and from that modem a internet cable with 300mbps to the wifi. From the wifi to the pc again a cable.

The problem is that for a few second my internet disconnect from the pc but the wifi is working. After the internet returns, internet speed is at around 90mbps and i need to restart the pc.

Before that router, I had an archer c2 ac750 and was working fine for the pc.

@regeponur

Check your ethernet negotiation speed when issue occurs here:

Speed of Internet port and the LAN port, where the PC is connected should be 1000 Mbps normally.

If during the issue one of these shows 100 Mbps then that's the reason for the speed drop.

The root cause could be the ethernet cable you're using (use Cat 5e/Cat 6) ethernet cables.

Try using different cables for these connections to see if that would improve stability.

If that doesn't help then try following:

After that change you can test again.

It is important to be a well made ethernet cable (Cat 5e/ Cat 6), regardless if it's from the box or not.

Glad to hear you've managed to fix it.

@Ivaylo

For me, on the Archer C80 by default Internet Port Negotiation Speed Setting is Auto, now I have changed to 1000Mbps / Full Duplex and should I leave it like that?

Will it not matter because it has worked well on Auto so far, and what is the difference, because as far as I understand the problem can only arise if the cable is bad?

Greeting!

@zexoni70

If you're good on Auto, you can leave it like that.

When you have problems with negotiation speed sometimes switching to 1000 Mbps, Full duplex can resolve the issue.

As long as the cable is good, you should be fine on either.

On rare ocasions the devices just can't negotioate the correct speed, no matter what the cable or the negotiation setting is - that could be FW/HW related or faulty port.
