Setting up of a 'One-Mesh' LAN at home
Hello all,
I have had a LAN at home for many years now, always 'copper' and no issues. Now after moving and having no desire to lay new cables etc. I have 'discovered' TP-Link Powerline adapters.
Thusfar all well and good, the next issue was getting WLAN connections in the new house. This place is really old, thick walls etc. making WLAN very difficult.
To resolve the WiFi issue I bought a bunch of the Powerline AV1300 with WLAN and these also work very well - though an expensive resolution since I need about 7 of them to cover the whole house. ( ... told you *really* thick walls!)
Now we reach the 'nitty-gritty' of my query: DSL is currently handled by an AVM router and supplies LAN / WLAN, with the assistance of the AV1300s without technical issue ... BUT I shlout like to enjoy the benifits of 'One-Mesh' to really make the WiFi access easy and seamless.
I assume I'm going to need a TP-Link 'One-Mesh' capable router, so my issue is the configuration of said router.
1. Which one is most appropriate
2. Will it A) replace my AVM, or will it B) suffice to set it up in parallel (i.e. behind the AVM) to enable the One-Mesh capabiltiy
Any advice will be gratefully received. Any clarification need will be supplied 'tout suite'
Thanking you for persevering and for your valued advice,
David-D
