Why does the home light on the powerline adaptor switches off when I plug in the ethernet cable on the router?
You mean the powerline LED which looks like a little house, right?
Please try to pair the powerline adapter and extender again via pair button to see if it can be on again when the adapter is connected to your router via Ethernet cable. If problem still exists, please move the two powerline devices into one room and pair them again.
