Model: Archer T3U
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: Last

Device doesn't works on Windows 11. The divice dissapears whenever I try to connect to 5ghz wifi signal or just it desconnects and then I have to reconnect/reinstall the software.

I already tried installing the lastest drivers from the TP Link website, and doesn't works. Also already tried changing channel on wifi router to channel 36/40/44/48 and still doesn't works. I have read that many people is experiencing the same problem with this device on Win 11.

Hi,

That sounds like the problem when the T3U is not successfully switching from USB 2.0 mode the USB 3.0 mode.

If your computer still has a dedicated USB 2.0 port, then use that one.

If all your USB ports are USB 3.x (either colored in blue or marked with "SS" for SuperSpeed), then try all the available USB ports one by one. Sometimes the various USB 3.x ports of a computer are controlled by two separate USB controllers, one of them might work better than the other in combination with these USB Wi-Fi dongles. In case none of them works, then an alternative would be to connect an USB 2.0 extension cable between the dongle and the USB 3.x port, as this will essentially convert the USB 3.x port into a USB 2.0 port.

Here is something else you can try.

Uninstall all the drivers that you have manually installed (in the Device Manager right-click the TP-Link adapter and select "Uninstall device" and select "Delete the driver software for this device) until you are back to the driver version that is included with Windows 11. That version can easily be recognized by the "Driver Provider" being "Microsoft" and the driver version being 1030.38.712.2019.

According to my own testing with an Archer T4U, this driver version does not attempt to switch the Wi-Fi dongle into USB 3.0 mode and works fine for me in Windows 11.
