Hardware Version: V6
Firmware Version: 0.9.13.16 v0001.0 Build 171220 Rel.74012n

1) Behind the router, the label shows hardware version Ver:6.1. See picture 1.

 

2) Using the web browser, it shows hardware version v6 00000006. See picture 2.

 

3) Can I update the firmware with TL-WR840N(EU)_V6.2_201124? See picture 3. The problem is that this firmware is for hardware version V6.2 but my router is hardware version 6.1. Can update?

Hi,

 

According to TP-Link's version number scheme, which is explained on the firmware download webpage, if the firmware was indeed for a version "6.2", then it should work for other "6.x" versions of the TL-WR840N as well.

 

However, aside from the typo in the firmware name, there is a note reading "For TL-WR840N EU V6.20", which means this firmware can only be used for TL-WR840N of hardware versions "6.2x".

 

Therefore you should use the firmware from this webpage for your model. https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/tl-wr840n/v6/#Firmware
