Eap 615 in omsda mesh
I have an omada mesh network with eap 610's. I bought 2 wall mount eap 615s to add to the system but cant get them to bridge with my 610's. They only work connected by ethernet cable. Can these eap615's not be used in a wireless mesh??

Hi @Vincent-TP
Thanks for the reply. Yes I am trying to use the EAP 615 as a downlink in a mesh system using EAP 610's. I am using a TPlink POE adapter to power the 615.
Since changing the 5ghz radio setting to channel 40 instead of auto I am now able to uplink to my EAP610. However, despite showing connected status on the controller I am unable to connect mobile devices to the 615. My PC will connect to the 615 but says there is no internet connection.... Any ideas?

Hi @Captainrik
EAP615-wall with the latest firmware already supports Mesh. You may update the firmware first.

@Vincent-TP Thanks for than info. Iwill try. Will this mean I could use the EAP 615 as a repeater in the mesh system without having to use an ethernet cable for an internet connection? (just using a POE adaptor for power)

Hi. I just updated the firmware and now have1.2.4 build 20240312 Rel.38105 There is still no option to mesh. In this TPlink PDF product info sheet it shows that 615 wall mount does not support mesh.

Not all units have the mesh f/w released. The US and I think EU units do, but I am still awaiting the CA version, and it's been months.

Hi, I checked the release note of version 1.2.3, it already added the Mesh function. Version 1.2.4 supports too.
Are you trying to add the eap615-wall as a downlink mesh unit? What PSE are you using to power the units? POE adapters or POE switch?
If using a POE switch, when the EAP units detect a wired connection, it will prior to use LAN connection. Under this situation, no mesh is needed.

Hi @d0ugmac1 Thanks for sharing! Since removing auto and using chanel 1 (40) I can now see mesh options. I have configured uplink from my EAP 610. However mobile devices cannot connect as they cant get the ip address. My PC connects but says there is no internet connection...
