Model: Archer GE800
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have 2 questions here.

1. Is there any different if old device (Pixel 7 Pro) connect with MLO network instead normal network (FreeWifi 5GHz)?

2. I checked the MLO network using same same channel as normal work, example FreeWifi 5GHz using Channel 40, FreeWifi MLO also using Channel 40. Isn't this will cause overlap and will effect the performance?

Thank you.

Hi,

The MLO network and other SSIDs using the same channel may have some impact.

However, usually it won't significantly affect your internet activities, so please do not worry about it.

As for another issue you mentioned, please only select 5G and 6G for the MLO network and then do the test again.

The possible reason why the 6G is not detected as the MLO network may be the detection mechanism of third-party software.

Hi,

Thanks for posting on TP-Link Community.

Ideally, connecting to MLO network enhances throughput, reduces latency, and improves network efficiency. However, it's important to note that the effectiveness of MLO depends on the compatibility between the AP and the STA. While Wi-Fi 7 routers are equipped with MLO capabilities, the level of support for MLO on clients such as smartphones and network cards can vary.

For your Pixel 7 Pro device, there may not be a noticeable improvement.

And if the FreeWifi 5GHz and the MLO network are using the same channel, the would affect each other.

  @Sunshine

1. As you can see, the MLO network is sharing the same channel as the SSID. Should this be a concern?

2. I have already set the MLO network for the 6 GHz band, but why does this application detect only the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands as MLO networks, and not the 6 GHz?
