This is not about category. You have Ethernet cable which is obviously not up to declared specs. It happens.

I have been using M5s with ancient Cat 5E cables (over 10 years old) but of good quality. I was able to get up to 500Mbps over WiFi from Satellite Deco M5 with Ethernet backhaul.

My Internet link is gigabit.

Replace Ethernet cable with the one that M5s can use at gigabit Ethernet speeds, and your problem will be solved.

Try different Ethernet cable.

What you describe points at Satellite Deco unable to negotiate gigabit Ethernet speed with Main Deco. In that situation, they will downgrade their Ethernet link to 100Mbps.

Deco M5 does not have Ethernet port LED light which will show link speed, but having exactly or very close to 100Mbps is a clear sign Main Deco and Satellite Deco connect over 100Mbps wired link.
