TP-Link Archer AX12 AX1500: Devices on the same band cannot access each other
Hello,
I’m experiencing a networking issue with my TP-Link Archer AX12 AX1500 Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Router where devices on the same Wi-Fi band cannot communicate at all:
-
Devices on 2.4 GHz can access 5 GHz and wired devices, but cannot reach other 2.4 GHz devices.
-
Devices on 5 GHz can access 2.4 GHz and wired devices, but cannot reach other 5 GHz devices.
-
Pinging devices on the same band returns “Destination Host Unreachable”, not just blocked by firewall.
I was able to confirm this behavior by splitting the SSIDs for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz and testing multiple devices on each band — the issue persisted.
I have verified:
-
AP Isolation is disabled on both bands.
-
Devices are connected to the same SSID.
-
Guest networks are not being used.
-
Firmware is up to date: 1.2.1 Build 20250729 Rel. 73566(4555)
-
Smart Connect is enabled
I have tried multiple devices and router reboots. Sometimes the issue temporarily resolves after a few reboots, but it always comes back.
Router model: Archer AX12 v1.0
Firmware version: 1.2.1 Build 20250729 Rel. 73566(4555)
Has anyone else experienced this issue, and are there any known fixes?
Thank you for your help!
