Some advice please. I have a mesh network with an assigned name. I now have to replace the router with an Archer MR600, but still with the same SIM card. Obviously a lot of devices are connected to the assigned name. My question is will the mesh "remember" the name. Otherwise all my devices will have to be reconnected.

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you are planning to replace your current router with an Archer MR600, and you are concerned about whether your existing mesh network (with its assigned Wi-Fi name) will be preserved, so your devices do not need to reconnect.

Please note that TP-Link's Deco Mesh systems and Archer routers (including the MR600) use different mesh technologies and are not designed to form a unified mesh network together. If you replace your existing Deco Mesh router with an Archer MR600, the mesh system will not automatically recognize the Archer router as part of the mesh. This means the Wi-Fi network created by the Archer MR600 will be separate from your Deco Mesh network.

If you set up the Archer MR600 as your main router and discontinue using the Deco system as your main router, your devices will need to connect to the new Wi-Fi network broadcasted by the Archer MR600. Even if you assign the same Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password as before, some devices may require you to manually reconnect, as the underlying network hardware has changed.

Key Points:
• Deco Mesh and Archer routers cannot form a single, unified mesh network.
• If you switch to the Archer MR600 as your main router, your devices may need to reconnect, even if you use the same Wi-Fi name and password.
• For seamless mesh functionality, it is recommended to use devices within the same mesh family (all Deco units, or all EasyMesh/OneMesh supported devices).
