Can RE235BE handle high moisture and low temperatures?

Model: RE235BE
Hardware Version: V7
Firmware Version:

I have poor signal range in my car garage and want to use a WiFi extender in there.

But the garage is not isolated or heated.

My question is:

Can the RE235BE unit handle high humidity/moisture and/or freezing temperatures.?

The unit will newer be in direct water contact. eg. rain etc.

thank you for info.

Hello @Supercharger ,

According to our knowledge base, the RE235BE has a specified operating temperature range of 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F) This means the device is not rated to operate in freezing temperatures (below 0°C). In an unheated garage during winter, temperatures can easily drop below this threshold, which could lead to malfunction or even permanent damage to the unit.

The RE235BE operates within a humidity range of 10% to 90% (non-condensing). And it is a standard indoor consumer device and is not designed or rated for high-humidity environments. Unheated garages can experience significant condensation and moisture buildup, especially during temperature fluctuations, which can pose a risk to the device's internal electronics, even without direct water contact.

For these reasons, using the RE235BE in an unheated, non-insulated garage is not recommended, as the environmental conditions may fall outside the device's safe operating parameters and could void the warranty.

If you need Wi-Fi coverage in such an environment, you may want to consider solutions specifically designed for harsh or outdoor conditions, such as TP-Link's outdoor access points (e.g., the EAP series outdoor models), which are built to handle a wider range of temperatures and weather conditions.
