I just bought brand new extender, set it up accordingly and all butthe signal is weaker than I receive from the original device. Doing a speed test, main router gives 17Mbis, while the extender provdies only 1.2 Mbis. The Tether app tells the location is correct and all while the signal was perfectly strong during the test. This etremely low speed makes me feel like I should return the extender.
I wonder might there be a compatibility issue between my At&T Uverse router and the extender? How can I detect that? And if so how can I avoid that? Otherwise I will return this thing as it is totally useless right now.

obviously this product is.a dud, I wasted a year and half with two of these extenders. Come to find out the router get 180mbs and both extenders can't get above 10mbs, tplink router Archer2300 and everything up to date. Looks like tp link got two of these over on me and should either refund or own up these extenders being junk. Very unhappy and think that I will go to anther brand that will no be tplink. Thinking about going to mesh system, but will not be tplink thats for sure.
