New 1.2.12 firmware for Deco M9Plus V2 is worst that 1.2.11
Hi,
I have a 3 pack of M9Plus V2, and I'm being disappointed for the last couple months, a month ago was shared a beta firmware for V2 (1.2.11) that was good for seeing some M5 features in like : Web UI, See wich devices are connected to wich Deco, manage mesh for devives, see how decos are connected, .......
It gave me a perspective that would be close to release a final version closer to the M5 ....... Installed yesterday the new firware available on the website (1.2.12) and ......
All the new features from the beta (1.2.11) disappeared !!!! what a fallback!
What is wrong with development in TPLINK ? is M9P V2 will ever get close to M5 features ? will be soon ?
I'm really not knowing what to do, already sent an email to the store where I bought to check if I can return this but still no answer ....
Anybody already installed 1.2.12 ? what is your feedback ?
Tks

Why not a Beta Release like you do in so many other devices?! for an High End product (and expensive), this is completely unacceptable. Like many other costummers on this forum, I have no other option than return the devices... what a disapointment from TpLink - don´t expect it!!
At least an expected date for the new release - as costumers we need to manage our expectatives or at the end we will return our devices!

Any updates about new firmware?
Still missing several features:
-webui
-WiFi channel customization
-Ikea Trådfri support
And more..
Last firmware updates was released in September 2019. Since then I only read on this forum that the R&D branche is working on an update but nothing is released.
For such an highend product I expected more support and development.

Hi! I had to return the units... too bad to be true. I have now the basic M4's - they are far better than the M9's... well, at least we can manage some thing. Not the wi-fi channel or other basic stuff's... but at least we can know where the devices are connected!

Hello, you are right the deco m4 have better options, I bought the deco m9 plus and it is somewhat frustrating to know that the most powerful product has very limited options. It has been going on since September and we look forward to the new update.

Alright folks...so the latest 1.4.0 firmware was just released for the Deco M9 Plus...I was so excited and pushed it to my 4 Deco M9+ access points right away...that excitement ended when I saw that, once again, only my v1 M9+'s updated. So I have 3x v1 M9+ on firmware 1.4.0 and 1x v2 on firmware 1.212. Features and performance are not consistent because of that single v2 M9+
TPLINK!!!! THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I have been waiting since October of 2019, for you to unify the features and firmware across the Deco M9 Plus model. Why are you treating the hardware versions like completely different models? Shouldnt you test and push out firmware that works across all Deco M9+ versions? Otherwise, stop selling the v2 hardware immediately. I can't find v1 hardware for sale at any reputable retailer, unless you will support a used v1 M9 that I buy from a seller on eBay? I am stuck with having a mixed v1 and v2 in my setup.
I called support and asked if you would RMA my v2 and give me a v1 so I can have a consistent set of features across all my Deco M9 Plus access points...I was told no and to ask the retailer if they can send me a version 1. Hello, it doesnt work that way. Amazon doesnt tell you which version of the hardware, they just send you Deco M9 Plus, and the version you get is up to chance.
This is really lame and I have tried hard to be patient..but your approach to hardware support is completely insane, and I am done waiting for you to figure it out. I will be returning these to Costco and moving on to anything other than TP-Link, like ASUS, which had a superior UI and feature set anyway.
You've lost additional opportunity with me as well...I was thinking about moving my wemo home automation hardware over to TP-Link, but after this experience, I am running as far away as I can from TP-Link and will not recommend your product to anyone I know.

I found a possible workaround. Here's a link to the 1,4 beta version for v2 hardware...it works great and other forum members are using it too. All credit to @SrDarkWarrior here is the 1.4 beta firmware for the v2 deco m9 plus...i loaded it, super happy now.
