Model: Archer C1200
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I bought a 2nd hand but quite new condition Archer C1200.  I cannot find the router when I plug into it via ethernet and cannot see it in the wifi list when I plug it into teh modem. Are there resources to help me figure out the problem? I've watched the Youtube videos on how to set up the modem and read the guide online but to no avail. One of the challenges is that there are many other TP Link wifi routers in the vicinity. If I can get the connection to work by plugging in the router via ethernet cable, and then rename it and set the password, I think it wil make the process of detecting the router easier. Any idea how to do that ethernet connect?

Hello, please try the below troubleshooting:

1. Reset the router by pressing and holding the RESET button for more than 5s until you see all the LEDs flash off then on;

2. Plug the router to your computer with an Ethernet cable and try to access its web UI:

How do I install TP-Link Archer router

3. If this still doesn't work, check again on the router bottom label and confirm the SSID, search for the SSID on a phone or via a laptop.

If none of the above is working, the router might be faulty and it is suggested to contact the reseller to replace it.
