Deco M5 speed degrades after a few days
I have the following setup
Deco M5 (main) -(utp)-> TP link switch SG105 -(utp)-> Deco M5
-(utp)-> TP link switch SG105 -(utp)-> Deco M5
-(utp)-> Deco M5 (X) -(utp)-> Laptop
The Deco M5 marked with X is the one giving trouble; what happens is this:
Everything works fine, after a few days the performance of that Deco degrades (from 500Mbps to around 85-90Mbps).
When I switch both utp cables from position the performance is back to normal again. After a few days I need to repeat this.
The other deco's do not have this problem. I tried replacing cables but the issue remains.
What can be the cause of this? Is there someway that I can debug this to see why this deco decides to maximize this the speed to 85-90Mbps.
(btw it is always around 85-90Mbps).
Best regards,
Lars

@TP-Link So I finally found the culprit. It was one of the switches that caused the speed to degrade. When logged in in the SG105e I noticed that one of the ports has its Speed/Duplex actual setting to 100MF (when Config was set to Auto). When changing that to manual 1000MF the performance no longer degraded. See image below, Port 4 was reporting only 100MF.
What can be the reason that this is automatically set to 100MF when the Config is set to AUTO instead of 1000MF?

Are you sure the X router is connected to another Deco using cable? Please check (when the speed degrades) in the app it must "Ethernet";

@NanoG6 Yes it is connected via Ethernet when this happens. What is strange to me that it always degrades to the same limit ~ 80-90 Mbps. As if there is some limit somewhere...

I was also have this issue, but only download speed that have issue while upload speed just fine. I have sold it and bought a new one and problem solved.

@NanoG6 Thanks for replying, i can check the upload speed as well. I will also switch it with another to see if it still happens or not. I was hoping to be able to debug this to see what is happening.

Hi, we would love to help you debug the current issue.
At the same time, could you please help me check some details:
1. How often did this issue repeat within one day?
2.if not unpluging the cables, would the speed stay at 85-90m/s?
3. Could you please swap the location of this Deco with others to check whether it is always the same one that had the issue?
Thank you.

Hi @TP-Link
#1: This happens every couple of days, not multiple times per day
#2: Yes
#3: I will and let you know.
