Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 2.2.3 Build 20201110 Rel. 60634 (4555)

I have 2 cpe210 one is configured as an ap and the other as client. They work ok but the problem is that every few seconds there is a lag spike about 1800ms. the distance is 2.5km. What could possibly is wrong?

If you have no clients need to connect to the AP CPE, you can enable the Maxtream function so that the connection will be more stable.

Maxstream is enabled and it acts like that. When Maxstream is disables i get no lag spikes but sometimes there is no internet at all ... btw the signal db is arround  -80/-80. should i give some more height to the antennas so it will be a bit better?

The value of -80 db indicates that the signal is not very good.

It is advisable to hang the CPE higher to ensure that the antennas are facing each other and the view between the CPEs is clear.

  @steliossopasis as @Virgo stated, -80 is not good. In fact -80 is really only enough for basic connectivity, meaning enough to establish a connection but not enough to actually  function correctly. You are well within the range specified so I would suspect some serious misalignment or obstruction of some sort.  My CPE710 has a built Alignment tool. Open that on your phone or laptop and make small adjustments. 

 

  • -30 dBm = Excellent - Max achievable signal strength. Not typical.
  • -67 dBm = Very Good - Minimum signal strength for most business applications
  • -70 dBm = Okay - Minimum signal strength required for a decent packet delivery.
  • -80 dBm = Not Good - Minimum signal strength for basic connectivity. Packet delivery may be unreliable.
  • -90 dBm = Unusable - Approaching or drowning in the background transmissions (or noise floor) and is causing serious interference with the signal. Any functionality is highly unlikely.

 

Enable the alignment beep so you can use along with watching the signal strength to fine tune alignment. Using headphones helps.
