Omada is showing new firmware 5.1.1 for EAP225(US) v3.0 available, when I try to upgrade it says "The upgrade file is the same with the current version". Current installed version is 5.1.0.

What's the firmware version of your controller? v5.13 fixed similar issue for EAP670, maybe you encounter the same, upgrade to v5.13 for testing.

Tried upgrading the EAP manually and in local, take a look:

https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/eap225/v3/#Firmware

And follow this article:  How to Upgrade or Downgrade the Firmware of Omada EAPs

No help? Bring the EAP back to the stadalone mode and test it again.

Have you tried to check your Java? https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/646246

If you are using Omada software controller and your Java is not 64-bit, you will fail the authentication of firmware.
