About to purchase NVR1008H and 4x Vigi 340
Before I press the Buy button, I wanted to know
- Do cameras auto-connect to NVR after powerfailure at PoE / NVR side completely automatically? I read on couple threads here and couple of reviews that they don't auto connect. This is concerning. Please let me know if this has been solved.
- Does this NVR + Camera have ANR (Automatic Network Replenishment) System like that of Hikvision and the likes?
- Has the time sync bugs been fixed? I read that NVR recording lagged by 1 hour in some threads here.
That's all holding me off from investing in Vigi ecosystem.

@CasualUser Hi! Before buying the VIGI NVR1008H, I have a few concerns:
- Do cameras auto-connect to the NVR after a power failure?
- Does it have ANR like Hikvision for continuous recording?
- Have time sync bugs been fixed? I heard about a 1-hour lag issue.
Your insights will help me decide on investing in the Vigi ecosystem. Thanks!

@Tedd404 Thanks for concise reply.
Do your Vigi cams ever go offline on their own without any fault in network?
Read this in couple of places too.
Thank you

usually not. in the lab, i have one nvr with some cams, both vigi or kasa. they don't usually go offline. basically every time, unless someone touches the network, the cam may go offline.
i use vigi security manager from the PC. not a fan of the cellphone if i have a desktop pc next to me.
if you use the phone, make sure the network's good. i have one camera at a client's house, some wireless model i don't remember, i remember that every time i view his camera, it worked well, showing his gate and no stutter or any issues. later on, i was removed from his camera. but my general impression would be good.

@CasualUser Avoid this vendor, buy Dahua instead

@iTrim Um, any particular reasons? Dahua isn't pretty widely available where I live, there is Hikvision though.

@CasualUser unless you want to turn all your clients into IT specialists, I would stick with Dahua or Hikvision.
TP link has alot of bugs and is totally unreliable, I had a client running 3 cameras and one camera would crash and needed reboot everyday at random times. I had to visit site 4 times, changing cable, camera, poe switch and settings on nvr, client was getting impatient and was due to go on holidays leaving his house vacant. The issue turned out to be software related fixed in last update as client has not reported issue again, fingers crossed.
I have another client that rings my phone every week without fail, no notifications are working and camera does not pick up humans, I drive to site and adjust the smart events again and everything starts to work again. A week later no notifications are working and camera does not pick up humans settings. System is getting removed next week for a Dahua system.
Stick to Hikvision or Dahua has a better app, now wireless alarms and more far more reliable, cameras have a metal housing and you can get metal junction boxes.

@iTrim I guess I'm about to learn the lesson hard way because I've already placed an order for a complete system. I should've waited for your reply but I got tired of being on the fence for so long and a shop was offering good prices on the system. I went ahead and put forth an order. Let's see what happens. Fingers crossed.

@CasualUser If the system is for yourself and your home then you will be ok as you will not have to listen to complaints, but if you are selling it to someone else then sell it as a dumb system that has no smart features and you will have no complaints about stuff not working. These systems are very cheap anyway, buy cheap buy twice

@iTrim Thank you for the kind words, yes the system is for myself and I am going to do all the installation. I hope it goes smoothly and I receive the latest V2s.
