SX3008F recognizes 10G transceiver in first two ports only
I have an SX3008F (hardware 1.20 or 1.6 depending on where you look) which is "fresh" in that I…
- …have updated to the latest firmware release (Build 20231011 Rel.42220).
- …have not done any interesting configuration. For example, the only VLAN is the default.
Into this switch I have inserted a TP-Link SM5310-T 10GBASE-T RJ45 SFP+ module.
The module works as long as it's in the ports on the left i.e. ports 1 and 2..
As far as I have been able to tell, the module does not work in any other port. Even when it is the only module in any port.
This makes it seem likely to me that if I buy more of these 10G modules they will not work in other ports either.
I have other TP-Link modules in other ports, and they work fine there, but they aren't 10G. (They are 1G.)
If I can't have many 10G modules in this switch, that would defeat my purpose in having bought it.
I will append a transcript of what it looks like in the console when I insert the 10G module in various ports.
Any hints welcome.
