Thank you!   I did some more testing that may be helpful.

I tried switching the cable modems between the two WAN ports:

I put the Netgear CM2050V Xfinity modem (faster 1000mbps, primary connection) on the 1Gb port

I put the Technicolor CVA4003TCH1 WOW modem (slower 300mbps, backup connection) on the 2.5Gb port

With this change, the primary internet connection does not seem to be affected by activity on the backup connection.  The only limit is that the Xfinity service is limited by the speed of the 1Gb ethernet port it is connected to on the router.  As a result, I am losing some speed on the xfinity connection because the over-provision by about 20%.  I should be able to get about 1200 Mbps with my Xfinity connection but I am limited to about 900 Mbps because I must use the 1Gbps port on the ER-707M2.

No. If the picture shows that you can get 1Gbps and 300Mbps at the same time on two different PCs with the PBR configured, then the router behaves normally.

900 to 1200Mbps are expected to be normal. Single line test should get you around 1000Mbps to 1200Mbps. If the speed test sessions are simultaneous, 900Mbps is normal as well.

Load balance do not add up any of the speed to one another.

About the video you had earlier, that indeed does not look normal. I asked this last time you mentioned me. I think the test and dev team missed the message. Will consult with this again. No worries.

@Clive_A  - any update on a fix for my issue?

Hello @Clive_A !

Great news!

I wanted to give you an update.  I updated to the latest ER707-M2 firmware and also upgraded my Realtek 2.5G network adapters with the latest drivers available on the Realtek website.

After those two updates, I am no longer experiencing the Primary WAN slowdown issue when both WANs are being used - even with the Netgear CM2050V modem is connected to  the 2.5G port on the router.

I did not get a reply from the dev/test. Unfortunately.

And I have not been informed by the dev that the latest firmware has a fix on the port speed or issue regarding the speed.

I assume it might be a problem with the NIC firmware?

If possible, you would like to dig into this issue, you can easily uninstall the driver and install the previous one for a test. (Keep both old and the latest firmware on your computer since the uninstallation would cause the computer to lose its Internet connection.)

Hello @Clive_A - Since my issue has been resolved by using the latest router firmware and NIC drivers, I don't have any reason to investigate any more. Everything is good with my setup now.  Thanks though!
