1.1.3 has the same Bug like 1.1.2

Huge lag spikes ,
bad WiFi connection
and a crazy Activity Download display in Omada Controller

Support told me, I m the only one with the issue, and the issue is only fixable by downgrading to 1.0.4

in Facebook i found another guy, telling me he has the exact same issues with 1.1.2, and he also needed to downgrade to 1.0.4

My Android TV Devices regular have an average download activity of 50KB/s,
but with 1.1.2/1.1.3 they start with around 400kb/s, and then they increase hour by hour, at the moment they show up as 900MB/s Download Activity...

They have just a 100MBit network port at all, so how shall they do a 900MB/s speed

And as there is some error in this, I assume it causes also those horrible LAGS, independent if its Wifi of 706w, the lan connected EAP, or PC connected by lan...
all have huge lag spikes, outtakes even in youtube, not to mention the unplayble of realtime games

How certain are you that you can confirm this problem can be reproduced? Is it 100% reproducible in your environment?

Regardless of the Mb/MB misuse in this case, I am not sure if you can confirm there is actually a problem.

1. I need a diagram of your network with the specified IP.

2. Problem screenshot.

And in addition, how do you confirm there is a problem? What's your methodology to verify the described issue? Please elaborate.

Unplayable realtime games, what would be the way to test it? What kind of connection do you use, wired or wireless?

3. Support case number. Or what kind of support did you reach? I can look it up via your email address which you registered the forum.

Display of the controller may be not accurate as it is not instantly synced. There is a lag between the device and the controller.

WIFI problems are common but it's mostly not the true problems. Wireless can be changing every time when you move around your house. You might have a WIFI dead spot anywhere if you did not do a proper mesh or positioning.

Ever since I have been in the industry, I can say around 70 to 80 percent of the problems come from the misuse of the WIFI or lack of understanding of how WIFI works.

Hi Clive

The support case number is
[TP-Link Support]-[TKID240960461] ER 706w Downgrade of firmware
You might contact Daniel Verde about it, I send several screen shots from the Activity Download Speed Screen
I had contact with him about 1.1.2 and he advised me to go back to 1.0.4 which instantly gave correct values
Same moment everything in network feel smooth again

- Opening an APP displayed directly pictures, not with a short delay
- Youtube stopped giving issues on a mobile phone connected to the er706w
- The 2nd PS5 which needs to check license on start, directly was able to work, no more display of We cant contact to check license..wait a moment..nope worked directly
- The game over WiFi has no more lag spikes, beside the regular rare ones of a short second, we dont talk about 10 to 30sec outtakes like with 1.1.2 and 1.1.3
The killer was friday, when my primary ps5 got an outtake of nearly 30sec, and i connected it with wires, during my 1.1.2 testing which made it a lot better, than over wifi with wired eap650 1meter away, that was the moment i did a 2nd downgrade, this time form 1.1.3 to 1.0.4 and...directly everything smooth again

I found 1.1.3 by someone from Facebook Group, and there I posted also about my issues, and then ano0ther person wrote, he has exactly the same issues and downgraded also down to 1.0.4

I can send you screenshots, network diagram and so on, if you PM me your email address

Yes, there might be some delays in Omada Controller Website and Router itself, but a 100MBit ATV cant send 100 Megabyte per second....not to talk about 900
With 1.0.4. its down to 50 kilobyte per second, plus minus 20, and doesnt increase
1.1.2 and 1.1.3 both start with a low value and increase overtime, I saw also some higher values with my NAs, but this seems to be sporadic and might be a delay issue. but not for those ATV which do pokemon go mapping ;)

You might be right about some knowledge lacks in wifi, as i m out of business some years already, but one of my further company is known as Lancom, so some base knowledge is still there even it got rusty by newer standards

any way, the only thing changing between having issues or not, is not a change of positioning of devices, its just by switching the firmware from 1.0.4 to 1.1.2 or 1.1.3
So if there are dead spots or anything else...they are also there with 1.0.4

This is from the other Facebook User
"I’ve worked with the ER706W and experienced similar issues with firmware 1.1.2. The lag and incorrect throughput data are likely caused by bugs introduced in that version. Downgrading to 1.0.4 was a good move, as it seems more stable for now.

yes, I did report it to TP-Link. It's odd they told you that you're the only one having issues. Maybe follow up with them again, or I can share more details from my side if that helps

On the forum, I do not take private messages. If you need to post them, you can post them here.

Please mosaic your sensitive information. Here is a list of information considered sensitive:

1. Public IP address on your WAN if your WAN is.

2. Real MAC address of your device.

3. Your personal information including address, domain name, and credentials.

For troubleshooting purposes, when a WAN IP is needed, please leave some values visible for identification.

As the disclaimer states.

I don't take PM or help users off the forum. If I need to, I will create a ticket for you. That'll be another ticket under my name. The previous ticket # is under my colleague at RO help center.

So, let's not focus on the WIFI thing as you stated something more serious than that.

You propose 3 questions so far:

1. WIFI

2. Lag

3. Incorrect display of the Controller status(?).

Let's fix them one by one. And you can let me know about the information one by one. Start with the network lag first. They are wired connections and what's the detailed behavior? What's the DNS resolution like when you are in 1.1.3?
