DHCP server function issue with AX23 in access point mode
I am using Archer AX23 in access point mode (static IP: 192.168.0.254) and have configured the DHCP server function on my main router (AtermBL1000). Even when I turn off the DHCP server function on the AX23, it still responds to DHCP requests with the wrong IP (192.168.2.xxx, etc.).
Even when I turn it on and set the IP Address Pool to 192.168.0.64-192.168.0.95, it still responds with the wrong IP.
DHCP requests are the same from both LAN and WiFi.
If I disconnect the AX23 from the LAN, the DHCP server on the main router works normally.
If I set a static IP to the device, it works normally.
The subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, and the default gateway and primary DNS are 192.168.0.1.
I purchased the AX23 in September 2025. Is this a manufacturing defect?

After updating the firmware to [1.0.3 Build 20240924 Rel. 54196(4A50)],
we confirmed that DHCP can be turned off properly even in access point mode and that the LAN operates normally.
It seems that it was a problem with the AX23V firmware after all.

I learned that the problem with TP-Link's DHCP server is also occurring with other models and has not yet been resolved.
The fact that the firmware version of your router (1.13.6 Build 240430) and my router's version (1.0.2 Build 20240429) are close in date may also be related to this problem.
It became clear that this was not just a manufacturing defect in my AX23 router.
All we can do is wait for TP-Link to understand the firmware issue and come up with a solution.
Until then, I will assign static IP addresses to 80 devices.

Did you change the operation mode as below:
Go to (Advanced)-->Operation Mode or Advanced-->System Tools-->Operation Mode.
Whenever a problem occurs, what is the error message? Please take a screenshot and send it to us so that we can locate the problem faster.

This issue only occurs in Access Point mode, it works fine in Router mode.
Currently, the AX23V in router mode is connected downstream of the main router, and it is operating as a two-stage router.
Each device has successfully obtained an IP address from the AX23V's DHCP server and is working normally.
When the AX23V is used as an access point, even if the DHCP server function is turned off,
the AX23V will assign incorrect subnet IP addresses to each device.
Even in this case, devices with fixed IP addresses will still operate with normal IP addresses.
Even in access point mode, the AX23V would sometimes function normally if its own IP address was dynamically assigned,
but it would always function abnormally if it was set to a static IP (fixed IP).
I don't want to use the AX23V as the main router to connect to the WAN because it poses a high security risk.
