Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.2.6 Build 20240718 Rel.82712

Hello,

I am the owner of an ER605 router. I purchased it for the ability to connect 2 WANs (a backup and a primary one, only the primary has a public IP).

Both ISPs are connected via ONU. The network setup is as follows: ONU (onu-1, onu-2) > ER605 > Deco M5.

There are also cameras in the network accessible via the internal IP 192.168.0.199 and an intercom at 192.168.0.200.

Previously, when I used only the Deco M5, I had no issues exposing the cameras to the public and connecting to them via the Hikvision app. Now, I have connected the cameras to the ER605 and set up virtual servers for both IPs, but I am unable to connect to them via the app.

I suspected the issue might be with the camera settings, but running an nginx server on port 8080 in Docker also did not work.

Any ideas on what else needs to be configured?

Hi @Vipro

Thanks for posting in our business forum.
There is no extra step needed.

Virtual Services(Port Forwarding) on the Router Doesn't Take Effect

@Clive_A Thank you for the information.

I’ve already seen this guide, but I went through it again just to be sure.

Below are the results:

  1. Accessible.
  2. Settings are correct.
  3. Public IP is available.
  4. The ISP does not block ports because everything works fine through the Deco M5.
  5. Nothing additional is configured.

From the outside, the port appears to be closed—I tested it using Telnet.

As far as I understand, opening a port should only require creating a virtual server, correct? However, it seems like it doesn’t actually open the port.

I’ve even reset the router to factory settings, but the result is the same. It feels like this functionality isn’t working. Could it be related to the firmware version? Would it make sense to try downgrading the firmware?

No. I have port forwarded on various Omada models for times. Also, this firmware has not changed anything related to the port forwarding.

Nmap and scan your WAN, will that display it as disabled? Turn off the related firewall function. Online port scan result?

If you try the Deco M5 right now, it works instantly by Nmap or telnet?

Even though I added Access Control in the firewall.

Yes, with the Deco M5, I can get access immediately (I just need to add Port Forwarding).

Can you try to forward only 8000 port first (so delete this 7999 redirection that you have). Does it change anything?

Best Regards

Filtered does not mean Closed. This does not mean the port forwarding is not working. Filtered port status is an improvement in the security of stealth scans.

What's the web port of the IPC? Port forward the web port of the IPC, and set this port forward external port as 2024. Then, access your publicIP:2024 and will you be able to access the page?

Note that the firewall of a local device can also affect the external access.

  @Clive_A

I tried changing both the external and internal ports, but nothing helped. The only thing I managed to find out is that the issue is most likely related to the TCP/UDP protocol, as I can use the same port for HTTP connections but cannot use it for TCP/UDP.

I also created a separate Service Type, but it didn't help.
