Software Controller and 2 EAPs (EAP110-outddor, EAP225-outdoor)
Software Controller and 2 EAPs (EAP110-outddor, EAP225-outdoor)
Hi,
my recent setup:
Telekom Speedport Smart 4 Router (Mesh-Master) with 3 Speed Home Wlan (Mesh-Clients) and 1 EAP110-outdoor wireless connected (Repeater):
Telekom Speedport Smart 4 --> Speed Home Wlan ))) EAP110-outdoor
I want to add another EAP225-outdoor wireless, but the EAP225-outdoor seems not able to work as repeater! :-(
Regarding to the hints in this forum it should be able to connect the EAP225-outdoor via Mesh, but how?
I installed the omada controller software and provisioned the EAP225-outdoor temporarly connected via LAN-cable. I tried to add the EAP110-outdoor to the omada controller as well, but with no success. Disconnecting the LAN-cable from the EAP225-outdoor's POE-power supply makes the EAP225 unavailable. I configured the WLAN, which could theretical be used as Wifi-uplink, but it is not used by the EAP225 (but the EAP110 does!).
I have no LAN-cable at the location where the EAP225 finally placed!
How to get the EAP225 working (like the EAP110, which has a perfect repeater setup wizard!)? With or without omada controller?
THX, Seb.

How to configure Omada EAP in Repeater mode
If you failed, please make sure your EAP225-outdoor is using the latest firmware version.

EAP110-Outdoor has repeater mode, EAP225-Outdoor have not, EAP225-Outdoor has mesh but EAP110-Outdoor have not. so you have a problem. I know some of the EAP6xx-Outdoor have repeater mode but I'm not sure which models, I think the EAP610-Outdoor has it.

@MR.S So, it is impossible in my setup to use EAP225, right?
But i coul'd use another EAP110 instead of the EAP225, hmm.
The other option would be to connect 2 EAP225s together wirelessly with Mesh, but that doesn't help me because at least one of those EAP225s would have to be connected with a cable (which is not possible for me), right?

The cheapest thing is probably to buy an EAP110-Outdoor, I don't know anything about how repeaters work, I've never used any repeaters, I use mesh if there is no other option, I would prefer a cable for access points.

EAP225-outdoor supports repeater mode. You can configure EAP225-outdoor as repeater mode to wirelessly connect to the EAP110-outdoor's SSID.
If you already tried this but failed, please let us know which step you stuck at.
But the wireless performance will decrease due to two wireless hops.
EAP110-outdoor doesn't support mesh. Using EAP mesh with EAP110-outdoor and EAP225-outdoor is not an option.

@Vincent-TP Thanks for this good news! But how to configure the Repeater mode? I could not find any hints in the documentation.

@Vincent-TP I configured the EAP225-outdoor using the omada App and it works! Thank you very much!
I don't need the Omada Software Controller anymore, right?
It's a nice tool, but my EAP110-outddor and EAP225-outdoor could not be found since they configured as Repeater. Or is there a way to have them there?
